This rear-drive sports car was born in the end of 2008, but its public history began in January 2009. Initially the car was available only in the body of the roadster, but in 2005 it was started to produce the coupe version of the car and the second generation there was only one modification - a coupe-cabriolet. But in August of 2016, the "era" of outstanding two-door car came to an end – it left the Assembly line.
The second generation of rear-wheel drive coupe-cabriolet BMW Z4 (in-plant labeling "E89"), with new exterior design and the modernized technique, first shown to the public in January 2009 at the North American International Show, but it was declassified a month before the event. Four years later, still in the same Detroit Germans put on public display an updated version of the car, which looks retouched and added new features. The era of two-door car come to an end in August 2016, when it left the assembly line, but in the near future, it will be replaced by Z5 model.
