The second generation of Subaru Impreza - successful continuation of the legendary Subaru Impreza I, which managed to become the new, rally standard. The premiere of the model was held in October 2000, at the Motor Show in Birmingham (Great Britain). In comparison with the predecessor, this version of Subaru Impreza added in sizes. The suspension and ergonomics of the driver's seat were improved. In a basic complete set, such options as climate control, electric drive of all glasses and onboard computer are installed.
Cars initially could be completed with 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual gearbox. On sports versions, 6-speed manual transmissions were established. There was also a 5-speed automatic transmission later. At the same time, all of Subaru Impreza were all-wheel drive. The body of the car became 120% more rigid than the previous generation. It allowed not only to increase safety level but also to improve manageability. By results of a crash test of the American Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Subaru Impreza got the highest point.
Subaru Impreza IV - sedan and hatchback of a small class with front-engine configuration and traditional all-wheel drive. The fourth generation of the model is manufactured in Japan since 2012. The model was presented in 2011 at the International auto show in New York.
