Pontiac G6
All Years and ModificationsIn 2003, General Motors presented conceptual product of Pontiac G6 at the International Auto Show in Detroit. The car did not look such futuristic and generally, company brand elements were used a lot. The sports sedan received quite soft smooth lines on the body and stylish dynamic shape.
The short overhangs arranged at the corners of the wheel with slightly convex wheel arches, corporate front forms, stylish slots of air intakes with integrated fog lights, beautiful rear end solution with elegantly designed headlights and four dedicated slots of exhaust pipes symbolize the sportiness of Pontiac G6 sedan. Much attention during the creation of Pontiac G6 was paid to an inner trim in which high-quality leather with two colors and inserts from metal give sports spirit to the interior.
All-wheel drive Pontiac G6 is equipped with a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine rated at 285 hp. The engine was planned to be equipped with Displacement on Demand system which allows using only a half of cylinders at simple driving and involves others when full capacity is necessary. It allows reducing fuel consumption, together with an independent suspension of all wheels with an adjustable ground clearance.
Serial Pontiac G6 appeared in Detroit in 2004 on the basis of front-wheel GM Epsilon platform (Opel Vectra ะก, SAAB 9-3 Sport Sedan, Chevrolet Malibu and so forth). The production was established at the plant in Orion (Michigan).
