All Years and Modifications
The release of legendary Nissan Skyline begins in 1957. Today, 12 generations of Nissan Skyline models are already introduced. Initially, Nissan Skyline was produced by Prince Motor Company and Nissan bought the car license from Prince in 1966. All 310.447 Nissan Skyline cars issued from 1968 to 1972 were sold. That modification of Nissan Skyline was equipped with 1.5-liter G15 (as on S57) and 1.8-liter G18 engines. Except the sedan, the station wagon and coupe with hardtop are produced since 1970.
Nissan Skyline is a midsize car of a luxury class. Nissan Skyline will please all who love speed, compactness, and comfort. It is issued in bodies sedan and coupe and has a longitudinal arrangement of the engine. This car belongs also to the premium SUV crossovers. Nissan Skyline is created on the modernized FM platform and has a rigid sports suspension.
Nissan Skyline has many positive features. They are landing of the driver, convenient console, which displays the temperature overboard and time. The car differs in excellent acoustics with installed Music Box system. Also, the interior differs in fine sound insulation, that is why during trips at night, the driver and passengers will be glad to pleasant interior lighting.
Nissan Skyline is issued in different complete sets. V6 engine volume of 2,5 liters and 3,5 liters are included in the main package. It is equipped with the 5-speed automatic transmission. Versions Type SP and Type-S are equipped with magnesium alloy underwear "petals" for the convenience of a gear shift. Optionally, it is possible to install a system of active steering for all wheels. The chassis of this series was specially designed taking into account installation of 6-cylinder engine to avoid the problems which arose during the creation of S54. Such version, 2000GT with the line 6-cylinder L20 engine volume of 2.0 liters rated at 105 h.p (78 kW) appears in a year.
406432 cars of Nissan Skyline R30 model were produced and sold from August 1981 to 1985. The modification was built based on C31 Laurel platform. In total, there were 26 versions of this model. R30 is the only generation of Nissan Skyline which offered body type 5-door hatchback. 4-door sedan and station wagon were issued together with a 2-door hardtop as before. In the scale of engines, there was 6-cylinder LD28 motor volume of 2,8 liters and 16-valvate 4-cylinder FJ20 with 2 camshafts.
