Ford Gt
All Years and ModificationsIn the mid-1960s, as soon as Ford Motor Company first release GT40, the sports car immediately received high scores and the company revenue was increased substantially. There was a racing version of Ford GT40, which won a lot of prizes, including four times in the famous race 24 Hours of Le Mans. The creation of a racing car was quite long for an American Company, as in the 1960s, leading position in this segment and success in the competitions belonged to Ferrari. In order to achieve a victory at the prestigious races, Ford even wanted to buy a package of all Ferrari technologies in 1963. However, Enzo Ferrari refused to sell even for such a huge amount of money. Therefore, Ford had no choice besides manufacturing a competitive car on its own to participate in Le Mans.
Later, the company decided to make Ford GT which was a new version of a legendary model. Ford GT is a rear-wheel drive sports car made from 2003 to 2006 which belongs to S segment. Only 4038 units were sold around the world. The length of Ford GT is 4643 mm, width - 1953 mm, height - 1125 mm, wheelbase - 2710 mm, and weight - 1.5 ton. The designer took the base design of the classic Ford GT40 race car which became popular in the 1960s, so the car is sometimes confused with its predecessor. Ford GT was powered by supercharged V8 engine volume of 5.4 liters rated at 500 HP at 5250 RPM and 600 Nm of torque at 3250 RPM. The gearbox was 6-speed manual ZF transmission. This motor was successfully applied to Mustang Cobra, F150 Lighting, and Lincoln Navigator models. Due to its characteristics, the power unit was able to move 1.5 ton Ford GT up to 330 km/h and accelerate to 100 km/h in only 3.9 seconds.
