Bentley Continental
All Years and ModificationsFor me the choice between the 12-cylinder and 8-cylinder version became the biggest problem upon purchase of Bentley Continental GT. Their cost differs slightly, as well as dynamics. Both versions accelerate to 100 km / h faster than 5 seconds. Even the maximum speed of the 8-cylinder version exceeds 300 km/h. On the other hand, the W12 is a real Bentley, while the V8 engine is developed by Audi. But nevertheless after long thoughts I have stopped the choice on V8, generally for two reasons. First, we just have no place to realize advantages of more powerful engine, secondly, Continental GT with the 8-cylinder engine is lighter, it has better weight distribution on the axles, and as a result, controllability. And of course, fuel consumption is much lower.
Further exploitation confirmed the correctness of this choice. Developing a speed close to the maximum was only a couple of times, and even then in short sections, in the German unlimited autobahns, when the summer I went on vacation. And there it is not easy to do, because the extreme left row is almost always occupied by "slow-moving", which move at a speed of no more than 200 km/h. Dynamics of acceleration of Continental GT impresses, and, rate of acceleration practically doesn't decrease to the speed of 250 - 270 km/h. Fuel consumption if not to hurry, then moderate, about 13-15 liters on 100 km. But at the maximum speed, you can easily burn a full tank in just a couple of hours, and necessary to fill it with petrol A-98.
