The company Honda presented a concept car in the body of a pickup, built on the basis of the new generation of hatchback Honda Civic Type R.
The novelty was named Project P and was created on the basis of the pre-serial version of the model. Changes have touched the back of the body behind the central pillars - there is a cargo platform.
The pickup, created by the engineering department of the brand at the factory in Swindon, has the same technical stuffing as the basic model: 2.0-liter turbo motor VTEC Turbo power of 320 hp and 400 Nm of torque combined with the 6-speed manual transmission. Up to 100 km/h, Civic Type R accelerates in 5.7 seconds. Its maximum speed is over 265 km/h.
In addition, Project P has inherited a system of motion modes: the operation of the control electronics can be switched between "comfortable", "sport" and "track mode". According to the manufacturer, it is not planned to produce a serial pickup – it will be used specifically for transportation of garden equipment.
